Since 2013, the Chief enologist at the Winery Zvonko Bogdan is a French wine consultant, Florent Dumeau. Born in Reims and educated in Bordeaux, Florent Dumeau has entered the world of wine with his father, a professional cook and a passionate lover of wine, who later enrolled in College for Viticulture in Montage-Saint-Emilion and completed the prestigious University of Enology in Bordeaux. His professional career began at the Chateau Taillefer in Pomerol, in 2001, and today he is a consultant at several European and South African wineries.
The commitment of the Winery Zvonko Bogdan to produce high-quality wines and a concrete aim for founding the best wine of Eastern Europe here brought him to Palić.
A good potential to produce great wines kept him here, as well as matching personal priorities to make the best possible wine in which the characteristics of varieties will come to the fore and uncompromising striving to quality of the Winery Zvonko Bogdan.
After three vintages he followed here and summed the potentials of terroir and the vineyard, the first wine whose production Florent Dumeau followed from beginning to end were created: Icon Albus Campana 2013, Icon Campana Rubimus 2013 and Pinot Grigio 2015.
And the first ratings are coming: official and unofficial. Last spring, Florent Dumeau, as he says, put Icon Campana Rubimus 2013 to a "blind"assessment. Among the 12 best red wines in the world from this vintage, assessed by 40 skilled experts, Campana took a fantastic fourth place.
The official confirmation from the world's biggest competitions came soon: Silver for Icon Campana Albus 2013 in the homeland of Sauvignon at the Concours Mondial Du Sauvignon 2016 in France, and the silver for Icon Campana Rubimus on the Decanter World Wine Awards 2016 in London. New wine from last year's vintage, Pinot Grigio is decorated with gold on the international competition of the Balkan’s wine in Sofia.
Pleased with the results, Florent Dumeau is convinced of the bright future of wines of the Winery Zvonko Bogdan noting that for this the most deserving are the vineyards contained herein is the wonderful terroir, and the enologist only directs a natural process in which its uniqueness is showing. With a team of young professionals dedicated to wine all together makes a winning combination that already gives a lot, and promises even more.
